14 The fecret of the Lord is with them that fear him: and he will fhew them his covenant.

15 Mine eyes are ever towards the Lord: for he fhall pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me for I am defolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my diftreffes. 18 Look upon mine affiction, and my pain, and forgive all my fins.

19 Confider mine enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 O keep my foul, and deliver me let me not be afhamed, for I put my trust in thee.

2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

3 For thy loving kindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

4 I have not fat with vain perfons, neither will I go in with diffemblers.

5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers: and will not fit with the wicked.

6 I will wafh mine hands in innocency: fo will I compafs thine altar, O Lord.

7 That I may publish with the voice of thankfgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

8 Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy houfe, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

PSALM

PSALM XXVII.

HE Lord is my light, Tand and my falvation, whom fhall I fear the Lord is the ftrength of my life, of whom fhall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes came upon me, to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an hoft fhould encamp against me, my heart fhall not fear: though war fhould rife against me, in this will I be confident.

4 One thing have I defired of the Lord, that will I feek after : that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

5 For in the time of trouble he fhall hide me in his pavilion in the fecret of his tabernacle fhall he hide me, he thall fet me up upon

a rock.

6 And now fhall mine head be lifted up above mine: enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle facrifices of joy, I will fing, yea, I will fing praises unto the Lord.

7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy alfo upon me, and

answer me.

8 When thou faidft, Seek ye my face; my heart faid unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I feek.

9 Hide not thy face far from me, put not thy fervant away in anger: thou haft been my help, leave me not, neither forfake me, O God of my falvation.

10 When my father and my mother forfake me, then the Lord will take me up.

II Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for falfe witnesses are rifen up against me, and fuch as breathe out cruelty.

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to fee the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he fhall ftrengthen thine heart : wait, I fay, on the Lord.

PSALM XXX.

WILL extol thee, O Lord, for thou haft lifted me up, and haft not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou haft healed me.

3 O Lord, thou haft brought up my foul from the grave: thou haft kept me alive, that I fhould not go down to the pit.

4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye faints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

6 And in my profperity I faid, I fhall never be moved. 7 Lord, by thy favour thou haft made my mountain to fstand ftrong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

8 I cried to thee, O Lord: and unto the Lord I made fupplication.

9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? fhall the duft praise thee? fhall it declare thy truth?

10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper.

II Thou haft turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou haft put off my fackcloth, and girded me with gladness :

12 To the end that my glory may fing praise to thee, and not be filent: O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

PSALM XXXI. N thee, O Lord, do I put my truft, let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteoufnefs.

2 Bow down thine ear to me, deliver me speedily: be thou my ftrong rock, for an house of defence to fave me.

3 For thou art my rock, and my fortress: therefore for thy name's fake lead me, and guide me.

4 Pull me out of the net, that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my ftrength.

5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou haft redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I truft in the Lord.

7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou haft confidered my trouble; thou haft known my foul in adverfities;

8 And haft not shut me

up into the hand of the enemy: thou haft fet my feet in a large room.

9 Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; mine eye is confumed with grief, yea, my foul and my belly.

17 Let me not be afhamed, O Lord, for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be afhamed, and let them be filent in the grave.
