HAVING lately made a GENERAL INDEX

to THE FIRST FOURTEEN REPORTS of THE

COMMISSIONERS who are appointed to in-

quire concerning CHARITIES in ENGLAND

and WALES,1 many subjects presented

themselves in the perusal of those au-

thentic documents which, I have been

induced to think, might not be uninter-

esting to the Public, if they were brought

together in a concise form. The bare

sight of a number of volumes often deters

readers from examining literary Works,

In pursuance of two several Acts of Parliament,-

one, having been passed in the 58th year of His late

Majesty George the Third, chapter 91,-and the

other, in the 59th year of the same King, chapter 81,

-both of which Acts have been continued by an Act,

which was passed in the 5th year of His present Ma-

jesty George the Fourth, chapter 58.
