This book is an excellent reference source detailing the growth and development of the Christian church. It's many trials and tribulations are covered as well. However, the book's prediction of Jesus' return in the near future (based on it's assessment of Biblical facts) is outdated in that this was stated in 1895 (the copyright year) and this is 2016. Jesus said even He didn't know the time. The book also has a strong condemnation of the Catholic Church, so Catholics will find no friend contained within the pages. The book is a must-read if you can find it.
