13. Be silent, O all flesh, before Jehovah,

For he is roused up from his holy habitation."

PART IV.

CHAP. III.

1. And he shewed me Joshua the high-priest standing before the angel of Jehovah, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 2. And Jehovah said unto Satan,

"Jehovah rebuke thee, O Satan,

Even Jehovah rebuke thee,

He, that chooseth Jerusalem.

Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?" 3. Now Joshua was clothed with filthy gar4. ments and stood before the angel. And he

answered and spake unto those, that stood before him, saying, "Take away those filthy garments from him," And unto him he said,

Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass away from thee, and have clothed thee 5. with change of raiment, and have said, let them set a clean turband on his head." So they set the clean turband on his head and

clothed him with the garments. Then the 6. angel of Jehovah stood; and the angel of Jehovah testified unto Joshua, saying,

7. "Thus saith Jehovah of hosts;
If in my ways thou wilt walk,
And if my charge thou wilt keep,
Then thou shalt also judge my house;
And shalt also keep my courts;
And I will also give thee ministers
Among these that are standing.

8. Hear now, O Joshua, the high-priest,

Thou and thy fellows, that sit before thee;
For men of sign are they;

For behold I am about to introduce my

servant, the BRANCH.

9. For behold the Stone,

Which I have set before Joshua ;

Upon one stone seven eyes.

t

Behold I am the engraver of the engraving

thereof,

!

Saith Jehovah of hosts;

And I have removed the iniquity of that

land in one day.

10. In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts,

Ye shall invite every man his neighbour,
Under the vine and under the fig-tree."

CHAP. IV.

PART V.

1. And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is waked

2. out of his sleep; and said unto me,

"What seest thou?" And I said, "I have looked, and behold a candlestick, all of gold, and a bowl upon the top of it, and its seven lamps upon it; seven and seven! Pipes are there to the seven lamps, which are upon the 3. top of it; and two olive-trees beside it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the 4. other upon the left side thereof." So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, "What are these my 5. Lord?" Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, "Knowest thou not, what these be?" And I said, "No 6. my Lord." Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, "This is the word of Jehovah unto Zerubbabel, saying,

Not by might, nor by power,

But by my spirit," saith Jehoval of hosts. 7. What art thou, O great mountain ? Before Zerubbabel a plain.

Yet will be bring forth that head stone.

Be there acclamations; grace, grace, unto it." 8. Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

9. "The hands of Zerubbabel have founded

this house:

His hands shall also finish it:

And thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts
Hath sent me unto you.

10. For who hath despised the day of small things?

But rejoice ye, and consider that stone.
He hath divided into the hand of Zerubba-

bel those seven :

The eyes of Jehovah are they,

Running to and fro through all the earth." 11. Then answered I, and said unto him, "What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick, and upon the left side thereof?" 12. And I answered a second time, and said un

to him, "What are the two branches of the

olive-trees, which through two oil gutters 13. drain off the oil from them?" And he spake unto me, saying, "Knowest thou not, what these be?" And I said, "No my 14. Lord." Then said he, "These are the two sons of oil, which stand before the Lord of all the earth."

PART VI.

CHAP. V.

1. And I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked,

2. and behold a flying roll.

[blocks in formation]

And he said unto

And I said, "I

see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits and the breadth thereof ten cubits." 3. Then said he unto me, "This is the curse, which is going forth over the face of the whole land. Because every one that stealeth, pleadeth not guilty, in this respect, according to it; and every one that sweareth, pleadeth not guilty, in that respect, according to it." 4. "I have brought it forth, saith Jehovah of hosts,
