OUTLAY FOR LIFE ASSURANCE
Materially Leffened.

By means of the "HALF-CREDIT SYSTEM," an Affurance for £500, or upwards, may be effected and kept in force by payment of only One-half of the first fix years' Premiums. The unpaid half Premiums remain (without fecurity) in the hands of the Affured, fo long as he pleases; and if not paid before death, the amount will be deducted from the fum Affured, interest thereon being, in the meantime, payable annually in advance.

The Affured will receive the fame fhare of Profit as if he had paid the full Premium; and in the event of death, the full fum Affured (under deduction of the unpaid half Premiums) will be paid by the Affociation.

The principal advantage of the fyftem is the fmall outlay required; for example, An Affurance for £250, on the ordinary fyftem, on a life of 30, requires a payment, the first year, of £6, 55.; while, under the Half-Credit Syftem, that fum, together with 7s. 6d. of intereft, will affure a fum of £500. For Specimens of Payments, fee next page.

ASSURANCES, WITH PROFITS.

ANNUAL PREMIUM for every £100, payable at Death; with a fhare of Profits applied in Reduction of the Premium after 6th payment.

The Premiums for Non-Participating Affurances are confiderably lower than the above. *REDUCED PREMIUM at 12s. 6d. per £1 of the original fum,-viz., the amount to which this year's Premiums on Affurances of the 1st Series, now clofed, have been reduced by payments from the profits. There is every profpect that the Directors will be able to allocate large fums of profit also to Policy-holders of the 2d Series.

FOR

AND

THE NEW YEAR,

JUST PUBLISHED, OR NEARLY READY FOR PUBLISHING,

BY

DEAN AND SON,

11, LUDGATE HILL, LONDON, E.C.

For more than fifty years Messrs. DEAN AND SON have been eaterers for the young, and yet the novelties they publish this year are superior to any that have yet issued from their house. To this they would call attention, and also to the fact, that every book, however childish, is carefully read in the MSS. before being printed; it is therefore with confidence they state, that in all the works issued by them, there is nought but what may, without fear, be placed in the hands of any child.

FOR YOUNG CHILDREN ONLY.

SUNDAY BOOKS FOR THE YOUNG. 18mo Demy, price 3s.

Just ready, bound in red cloth, with Four Illustrations and Title in Colours, by Clayton,

Scripture Teachings for the Young. By the Rev. Alexander Fletcher, D.D., of Finsbury Chapel, being series the first of Bible Companions for ihe Young. Companion Books in size and price for the series areSunday Employment made Sunday Enjoyment, for the Young and Good. By Mrs. Upcher Cousens, Authoress of "Pleasant Sundays,' with Frontispiece and Title in Colours, by Richard Doyle, and four other Illustrations. Printed in bold clear type, price 3s.

"The favourable reception accorded to Pleasant Sundays' emboldens the Authoress to add another sheaf to the spock, and to work on with the same aim and the same end in view, viz., to lighten the task of Parent and Teacher in simplifying and applying the sacred doctrines of Divine Truth, and also to render the ways of wisdom ways of pleasantness and peace during the long unoccupied hours of the Lord's days. Children cannot of themselves understand the Bible and the Decalogue, and are apt to tire when catechised too long. The intention of this little work is to render the search after holiness agreeable rather than tedious, and to gather for the youthful and eager mind a few drops of Honey' and Milk' that may lead them to tread with more willing feet the path that leads to that land flowing with milk and honey-the promised Canaan eternal in the heavens." -Extract from Preface.

18mo Demy, 2s. 6d., or gilt edges, 3s., bound in cloth, lettered sides and back. The Illustrated Scripture Natural History, with above Fifty beautiful Illustrations, and with pleasantly told descriptive Text in Prose and Verse, of the Animal, Vegetable, and Mineral Kingdoms mentioned in Scripture. By the Rev. J. Young and Miss Anna Maria Sargeant.

This book is intended, by bringing the youthful mind at an early period to some knowledge of the Wonders of Nature, and, at the same time conneeting that knowledge with the Bible, to associate pious thoughts and feelings with the works of God, and imperceptibly create an interest in that Holy Book which is able to make wise unto Salvation.

Sundays with Mamma; or, the Commandments Explained. With

Short Histories from the Bible. By Francis Upcher Cousens, Authoress of "Pleasant Sundays.' Price 3s., or 3s. 6d. gilt edges, handsomely bound, red and blue cloth, Illustrated with Six Plates, and Title and Frontispiece in Colours, by Leighton.

"This Book has but one aim in the religious instruction of the youthful of both sexes, not only in the Articles of the Christian Faith, but also in the more perfect knowledge of God their Saviour, in whose footsteps they are hereby admonished to follow, in their way to the Heavenly Canaan, whither he had gone before to prepare a place for all those who love him and keep his commandments."-Preface.

"This little work, breathing the purest spirit of piety, is just such a book as should be put into Vithe hands of children of all ages, to advance their knowledge of the Scriptures and teach them to have a correct appreciation of our Holy Decalogue."-Churchman's Review.

Happy Sundays. In Two Series, of Twenty-six Sundays each; each series 3s. Forming a companion to the "Prince of Peace," and "Line upon Line," "Pleasant Sundays," &c.

After observing that the Rev. Robert Bickersteth, Bishop of Ripon, has connected his name with the publication, the publishers need scarcely add their own terms of estimation; but they cannot help advancing the opinion that " Happy Sundays" is a book calculated to promote happiness amongst youthful readers, by affording them Sunday reading of a character both instructive in its matter and amusing in its style.

The following is an Extract from the Preface to "Happy Sundays:"-" To those who delight in seeing a group of happy children nestled round their mother's knee, gleaning from her lips the lessons of piety and wisdom, and reading in her face the laws of love and kindness, to such this little book will prove a welcome boon-it will serve to lighten the task on many a dawning Sabbath, since it contains a lucid explanation of the Lessons for every Sunday throughout the year, as observed in the Church Service, adapted to the minds of those very babes and sucklings out of whose mouths God has ordained praise.""
