ON THE CONNECTION BETWEEN SCIENCE AND REVEALED RELIGION. Delivered in Rome, BY CARDINAL WISEMAN. Sixth Edition. VOL. I. علم از بهر دین پروردنست "Science should be dedicated to the service of religion." GULISTAN, viii. 4. LONDON: Catholic Publishing and Bookselling Company, Limited, CHARLES DOLMAN, MANAGER, 61, NEW BOND STREET, & 6, QUEEN'S HEAD PASSAGE, ADVERTISEMENT TO THE THIRD EDITION. In presenting this Third Edition to the public, the Author has to express his regret, that it appears merely as a transcript of the first. His present occupations leave him little or no leisure for the cultivation of literature, or the continuation of those studies which formed the delight of his youth. Whether it will ever please Providence to allow him an opportunity of resuming them, it is not in his power to judge. But should this ever be granted to him, it will be certainly dedicated to the completion of works left imperfect through attention to the claims of higher duties; and to no pursuits will he return with greater pleasure, than to those which will enable him farther to verify the principles of this work. The more he has watched the progress of every science here treated of, the more he has found reason for conviction, that religion has nothing to fear from the legitimate advance of human learning.
