21 For he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
The Epistle of PAUL the Apostle to the
CHAP. I. 1 He wondereth that they have so soon left him and the
gospel, 11 which he learned not of men but of God. PAUL, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by
Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised bun from the dead ;)
2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia ;
3 Grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel : .
7 Which is not another ; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ,
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you, than ikat ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you, brethren, That the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
19 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Ti 4
13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; inmediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
19 But other of the Apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.
20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;
22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judea which were in Christ :
23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past, vow preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. 24 And they glorified God in me,
CHAP. V. i He moveth them to stand in their liberty, 3 and not to
observe circumcision, 13 but rather love. 19 The works
of the flesh, 22 and fruits of the Spirit. STAND fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ
bath made us free, and be not entangled agaiŋ with the yoke of bondage.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall protit you nothing,
39 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. 7 Ye did run well, who did hinder
should not obey the truth
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution ? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye
would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 g But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.
23 Meekness, temperance : against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
CH AP. VI. 1 He willeth them to deal mildly with a brother that hath
slipped, 6 to be liberal to their teachers, 9 and not to be
weary of well doing. BRETHREN, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which
are spiritual restore such an one in the spirit of meeks ness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For
every man shall bear his own burden. 6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
hogy Be not deceived; God is not mocked : for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also
reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting,
9 And let us not be weary in well doing : for in due scason we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we liave therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the houshold of faith, 11 Yesce how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they ci nstrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised, keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14 But God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
16 And as many as walk aecording to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

CHAP. IV. 1 He exhorteth to unity. 7 Why men hate different gifts.
20 The old man to be put off, 23 with lying, and all
corrupt communication. I THE prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk
worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond
. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling ;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 2
