of creation described in the 1st chapter of Genesis?

A. "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

"And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep."

Q. What was first created?

A. LIGHT. "The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. "And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

"And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. "And the evening and the morning were the first day," (or the first great period of time and change upon our globe.)

Q. What was the second work of creation?

A. God made a firmament in the midst of the waters, and said, “Let it divide the waters from the waters. And God called the firmament heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day."

Q. What was the third great change? A. At the command of God the waters under the heaven were gathered together unto one place, and the dry land appeared.

"And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas.

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, and herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, and it was so. And the evening and the morning were the third day."

Q. What took place on the fourth day, or fourth period of time?

A. "God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for Signs, and for Seasons, and for Days, and for Years.

"And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; He made the stars also. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.'

Q. What was the work of the fifth day?

A. God caused the waters to "bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

"And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

"And the evening and the morning were the fifth day."

Q. What took place on the sixth day, or the sixth period of time?

A. By the word of God the earth brought forth the living creature after his kind :-cattle and creeping things, and beasts of the earth.

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good."

Q. What was the last great work of creation on the sixth day?

A. MAN -the earth being now in a state fitted for his habitation.

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

2. Describe the creation of man in the words of Scripture?

A. 66 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

.. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

"And God blessed them, and gave them dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

"And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

Q. What were the names given to

the Man and Woman?

- A. ADAM and EVE.

Q. What occurred on the seventh day? A. God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.-because that in it He had rested from all His work, which God created and made.

Q. How long is it since man was created, as recorded by Moses?

A. 4004 years before the birth of Jesus Christ; and although geologists tell us the earth has existed for millions of years, no certain trace of man has been discovered that would date back earlier than that period.

Some learned men have supposed the antiquity of man to be much greater upon the earth; but all discoveries in the Book of Nature prove the truth of the Book of God, that man was the last created of all living creatures.
