Jesus, which is taken from you into heaven, shall so
come in like manner as ye
have seen him go into heaven.
(Acts, xvii. 31.) Because he hath appointed a day,
in the which he will judge the world in righteousness
by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath
given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised
him from the dead.

(2 Cor. v. 10.) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

(2 Tim. iv. 1.) I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.

(1 Pet, iv. 5.)

Who shall give account to him that

is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

QUEST. (John v. 25.) Verily, verily, I say unto you, The 23. hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

(1 Cor. xv. 51, 52.) Behold, 1 shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

(1 Thes. iv. 16.) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

QUEST. (Matt. xiii. 41-43) The Son of man shall send 24. forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

(Matt. xxv. 34, 41, 46.) Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world :-Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: And these shall go away into everlasting punishment; but the righteous into life eternal.

(John, v. 28, 29.) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

(2 Pet. ii. 9.) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished.

QUEST. (Acts, iv. 12.) Neither is there salvation in any 27. other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

:

(Eph. ii, 8, 9.) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast.

(Tit. iii. 5.) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

(1 John, v. 11.) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. QUEST. (Mark, viii. 38.) Whosoever therefore shall be 28. ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

(John, v. 40.) And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

(John, xii. 48.) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him : the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (1 Tim. ii. 5, 6.) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due tinie.

(Heb. x. 29.) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Heb. x. 38.) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

(1 John, ii, 2.) sins: and not for

whole world.

And he is the propitiation for our our's only, but also for the sins of the

QUEST. (Luke, xiii. 3.) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye 29. repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

(John iii. 36.) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

(John vi. 47.) Verily, verily, I say unto you he that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

(Acts, xvi. 31.) And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts, xx. 21.) Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

(2 Cor. vii. 10.) For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

(Heb. xi. 6.) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(2 Pet. iii. 9.) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But

QUEST. (Acts, iii. 19.) Repent ye therefore, and be con31. verted, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts, xxvi. 19, 26.) Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

(1 John, i. 7. 9.) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. QUEST. (Matt. vii. 17.) Even so every good tree bringeth 33. forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

(Gal. v. 24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

(James, ii. 18.) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

(1 John, ii. 3.) And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

(1 John, iii. 10.) In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

(1 John, v. 18.) We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not, but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

QUEST. (John xiv. 15, 23.) If ye love me, keep my com34. mandments.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:

(1 John, v. 3.) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments.

QUEST. (Matt. vii. 21, 23.) Not every one that saith unto 36. me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(Matt. xix. 17.) But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

(Luke, viii. 15.) But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

(Tit. iii, 8.) This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.

(Heb. xii. 14.) Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

(James, ii. 20.) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

QUEST. (John xiv. 16, 17.) And I will pray the Father, 37. and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth;

whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

(John xvi. 13.) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will shew you things to come.

(Gal. iv. 6.) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.

(Gal. v. 16, 22, 23.) This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance against such there is no law.

QUEST. (John xv. 5.) I am the vine, ye are the branches, 39. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

(Rom. vii. 18, 19.) For I know that in me, (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not but the evil which I would not, that I do.

(Rom. viii. 8.) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

(1 Cor. xii. 3.) Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

(Gal. v. 17.) For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things would.

that

ye

(Phil. ii. 13.)

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

QUEST. (Gal. v. 17.) For the Flesh lusteth against the 40. Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

(James, i. 13, 14.) Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
