-and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus; That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us, through Christ Jesus.

Ex. 32. 14. And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

Ps. 25. 6. Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Ps. 36. 7. How excellent is thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Ps. 69. 16. Hear me, O Lord; for thy loving-kindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

Ps. 78. 38. He, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not.

Ps. 86. 15. Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Faithfulness.

Ps. 103. 13. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

Lk. 6. 35. He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Ps. 119. 156. Great are thy tender mercies, O Lord.

Ps. 145. 8. The Lord is gracious and full of compassion; slow to. anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all, and his tender mercies are over all his works.

Lam. 3. 22. It is of the Lord's mercies, that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

Hos. 11. 8. How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? My heart is turned within me, My repentings are kindled together.

222. Is God faithful?

Dt. 7. 9. The Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.

Jos. 21. 45. There failed not aught of any good thing which all the world had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

Jos. 23. 14. Ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.

Ps. 36. 5. Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Forbearance.

Ps. 89. 2. Thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. 33. My loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Ps. 119. 90. Thy faithfulness is unto all genera

Lam. 2. 17. The Lord hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied; and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee.

223. Is God a being of forbearance and long-suffering?

Ec. 8. 11. Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

224. Is God perfectly good?

Ex. 34. 6. The Lord God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.

1 Ch. 16. 34. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.

Ps. 33. 5. The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

225. Is God holy?

Ex. 15. 11. Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

Lev. 11. 44. Ye shall be holy; for I am holy.

1 Sam. 2. 2.

There is none holy as the Lord. Job 15. 5. Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.

Job. 34. 10. Far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty that he should commit iniquity.

Ps. 5. 4. Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

226. Is God impartial?

Gen. 18. 25. That be far from thee-to slay the righteous with the wicked; and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: shall not the judge of all the earth do right?

Ex. 34. 7. And that will by no means clear the guilty.

Dt. 10. 17. A great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward. He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger in giving him food and raiment.

Dt. 32. 4. All his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity: just and right is he.
