31 And he faid, Behold now, I have taken upon me to SPEAK unto the LORD: Peradventure there fhall be TWENTY found there. And he faid, I will not destroy it for twenty's Sake.

32 And he faid, Oh let not the LORD be ANGRY, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure TEN fhall be found there. And he faid, I will not destroy it for ten's Sake.

33 And the LORD went his way, as foon as he had left communing with Abraham; and Abraham returned unto his Place.

CHA P. XIX.

1 Lot entertaineth two Angels. 4 The vitious Sodomites are ftricken with Blindness. 12 Lot is fent for Safety into the Mountains: 18 He obtaineth Leave to go into Zoar. Sodom and Gomorrah are deftroyed. 26 Lot's Wife is a Pillar of Salt. 30 Lot dwelleth in a Cave. 31 The incestuous Original of Moab and Ammon.

AN

two ANGELS to Sodom at Even; and Lot fat in the Gate of Sodom: and Lot feeing them, rofe up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his Face toward the Ground.

2 And he said, Behold now my Lords, turn in I pray you, into your Servant's Houfe, and tarry all Night, and wash your Feet, and ye fhall rife up early, and go on your Ways. And they faid, Nay,

but we will abide in the Street all Night.

3 And he preffed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entred into his

10 But the Men put forth their Hand, and pulled Lot into the House to them, and fhut the Door.

SROYED them all:

30 Even THUS fhall it BE in the DAY when the Son of MAN IS REVEALED. 32 Remember LoT'S WIFE.

14 And Lot went out, and fpake unto his Sons-inlaw, which married his Daughters, and faid, Up, get ye out of this Place; for the LORD will deftroy this City but he feemed as one that mocked to his Sons-in-law.

15 And when the Morning arofe, then the ANGELS haftned Lot, faying, Arife, take thy Wife, and thy two Daughters which are here; left thou be confumed in the Iniquity of the City.

15 And while he LINGRED, the Men laid hold upon his Hand, and upon the Hand of his Wife, and upon the Hand of his two Daughters: the LORD being MERCIFUL unto HIM and they brought him forth, and fet him without the City.

17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he faid, Efcape for thy Life; look

8 But, be not ignorant, that one Day is with the LORD as a THOUSAND

Years, and a THOUSAND Years as one
Day.

9 The LORD is not SLACK Concerning his PROMISE (as fome Men count Slacknefs) but is LONG-SUFFERING to us-ward, not wILLING that any should PERISH, but that all fhould come to REPENTANCE.

Io But the DAY of the LORD will come as a THIEF in the NIGHT; in the which the HEAVENS fhall pass away with a great NOISE, and the ELEMENTS fhall melt with FERVENT 'HEAT, the EARTH alfo, and the Works that are therein shall be BURNT up.

II SEEING then that all thefe Things fhall be DISSOLVED, what manner of PERSONS Ought ye to be in all holy CONVERSATION and GODLINESS,

12 Looking for, and haftning unto the COMING of the DAY of GOD, wherein the HEAVENS being on FIRE fhall melt with fervent HEAT.

13 Neverthelefs WE, according to his PROMISE, look for NEW HEAVENS and a NEW EARTH, wherein dwelleth RIGHTEOUSNESS.

14 Wherefore, feeing that ye look for fuch Things, be DILIGENT, that ye might be found of him in PEACE, without SPOT, and blameless.

8 (For that RIGHTEOUS Man dwelling among them, in feeing and hearing, VEXED his righteous Soul from Day to Day with their unlawful Deeds.)

not behind thee, neither ftay thou in all the Plain: efcape to the Mountain, left thou be confumed.

18 And Lot faid unto them, Oh not fo, my Lord.

19 Behold now, thy Servant hath found Grace in thy Sight, and thou haft MAGNIFIED thy MERCY, which thou haft fhewed unto me in SAVING my LIFE and I cannot efcape to the Mountain, left fome Evil take me, and I die.

20 Behold now, this City is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh let me escape thither (is it not a little one?) and my Soul fhall live.

21 And he faid unto him, See I have accepted thee concerning this thing alfo, that I will not OVERTHROW this CITY, for the which thou haft spoken.

22 Hafte thee, escape thither; for I CANNOT DO any thing till thou be come thither: therefore the Name of the City was called Zoar.

23 The SUN was RISEN upon all the Earth when Lor entred into Zoar.

24 Then the LORD RAINED upon SODOм and GOMORRAH BRIMSTONE and FIRE from the LORD out of HEA

VEN.

25 And he overthrew thofe Cities, and all the Plain, and all the Inhabitants of the Cities, and that which grew upon the Ground.

26 BUT his WIFE LOOKED BACK from behind him, and she became a PILLAR of SALT.

27 And Abraham gat up early in the Morning, to the Place where he ftood before the LORD.

28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the Land of the Plain, and beheld, and lo, the Smoke of the Countrey went up as the SMOKE of a FUR

NACE.

29 And it came to pafs when GOD DESTROYED the Cities of the PLAIN, that GOD REMEMBRED Abraham, and SENT LOT out of the midst of the Overthrow, when HE overthrew the Cities, in which Lot dwelt.

CHAP. XXI.

Ifaac is born. 9 Hagar and Ishmael are caft forth. 22 Abimelech's Covenant with Abraham.

AN

Ver. 1 AND the LORD vifited Sarah as he had faid, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a SON in his OLD AGE, at the SET Time of which God had spoken to him.

3 And Abraham called the Name of his Son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, ISAAC.

4 And Abraham circumcifed Ifaac, being eight Days old, as GOD had commanded him.

5 And Abraham was an HUNDRED Years old, when his Son Ifaac was born unto him.

6 And Sarah faid, GOD hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

7 And the faid, Who would have faid unto Abraham, that Sarah fhould have given Children Suck? for I have bornhim a SoN in his OLD AGE.

8 And the Child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great Feast the same Day that Ifaac was weaned.
