7 And said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpreta- c. 1. 9. tion, Sent.) He went therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

8 The neighbors therefore, and they who before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

10 Therefore they said to him, How were thy eyes opened?

11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus, made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

26 Then they said to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thy eyes? 27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: Why would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are the disciples of Moses.

29 We know that God spoke to Moses: as for this man, we know not whence he is.

30 The man answered and said to them, Why, herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened my eyes.

31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man is a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

32 Since the world began hath it not been heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.

33 If this man were not from God, he

13 T They brought to the Pharisees him that before was blind.

14 And it was the sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said to them, He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and do see.

16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not from God, because he keepeth not the sabbath. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

17 They say to the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thy eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

18 But the Jews did no believe concerning him that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.

19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?

21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not; he is of age; ask him: he will speak for himself.

22 These words his parents spoke, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man confessed that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

24 Then again they called the mant that was blind, and said to him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

35 Jesus heard that they had east him out: and when he had found him, he said to him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him?

37 And Jesus said to him, thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped him.

39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they who see not, may see; and that they who see, may be made blind.

40 And some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these words, and said to him, Are we blind also?

41 Jesus said to them, If ye were blind, ye would have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. CHAP. X.

4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5 And a stranger will they not follow,

but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

6 This parable spoke Jesus to them: but they understood not what things they were which he spoke to them.

7 Then said Jesus to them again, Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

22 T And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24 Then came the Jews around him, and said to him, How long dost thou i make us to doubt? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they testify concerning me.

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said to you.

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

6 When therefore he had heard that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

7 Then after that he saith to his disciples, Let us go into Judea again.

8 His disciples say to him, a Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?

34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They say to him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept.

36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

37 And some of them said, Could not this man, d who opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself, cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith to him, Lord, by this time his body is offensive: for he hath been dead four days.

32 Then when Mary had come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying to him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and 5 was troubled;

Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard

me:

42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people who stand by, I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

43 And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave-clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith to them, Loose him, and let him go.

45 Then many of the Jews who came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

46 But some of them went to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.

47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees convened a council, and said, What do we? for this man performeth many miracles.

48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans will come, and take away both our place and nation.

49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said to them, Ye know nothing at all,

50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish

not.

51 And this he spoke not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should assemble in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together to put him to death.

54 Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence to a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

55 ¶ And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
