PREFACE.

THE lessons and exercises given in this book have long been used by us in manuscript form. They are now published for the convenience of our own pupils and the benefit of others.

The knowledge contained in "Aids to Correct and Effective Elocution" has been drawn from many sources and tested by actual use for years among our numerous pupils.

Its teachings will be found to be in harmony with those of the best authorities on the art of expression.

The Readings and Recitations have all been chosen on account of their suitability for elocutionary practice. Those that are not of high literary merit have recommended themselves to us by the scope they give for vocal and physical expression.
