N those days: God shewed those things that were

servant John, who bore witness of the word of God, and of all he had seen concerning Jesus Christ.* Blessed is he that readeth and heareth the words of this prophecy, and observeth what is written therein; for the time is near. John to the seven churches that are in Asia. Grace to you, and peace from him that is, and that was, and that is come and from the seven spirits that are before his throne; and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and Prince of the Kings of the earth; who hath loved us, and washed us from our sins in his blood.

T that time: the disciples came to Jesus, saying: Who thinkest thou, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus calling a little child, set him in the midst of them, and said: Verily I say unto you: Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever therefore shall humble himself, as this little one, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever shall receive such a little one as this in my name, receiveth me. But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it is better for him, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he drowned in the midst of the sea. Wo to the world because of scandals: for it must needs be that scandals come: but wo to that man, by whom scandal cometh. If thy hand or thy foot be a scandal to thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed or lame, than having two hands, or two feet, to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thy eye be a scandal to thee, pull it out, and cast it from

thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. Take care you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you: Their Angels in heaven always see the face of my Father, who is in heaven. CREDO.

OFFERT. Rev. viii. An Angel stood by the altar of the temple, having in his hand a golden censer; and much incense was given him ; and the smoke of the incense ascended in the sight of God. Alleluia, Alleluia.

Stetit Angelus juxta aram templi, habens thuribulum aureum in manu sua; et data sunt ei incensa multa; et ascendit fumus aromatum in conspectu Dei. Alleluia, Alleluia.

SECRET. We offer thee, O Lord, this sacrifice of praise, that, by the intercession of thy Angels, thou wouldst mercifully receive the same, and grant, that it may avail us to salvation, Thro'.
