Chap. 14. ver. 2. I will gather the Nations against Jerufalem to battle, and the City hall be taken; half fhall go forth into Captivity, and the refidue fhall not be cut off.

Ver. 3: Then fhall the Lord go forth, and fight against thofe Nations.

Ver. 4 And his Feet Jhall stand upon the Mount of Olives, and it shall cleave in the midft thereof towards the Eaft and towards the Weft (that is, by an Earthquake) and the Lord my God fhall come, and all the Saints with thee.

Ver. 6. And the Light shall not be clear, nor dark.

Ver. 8. In that day living Waters fhall go out of Jerufalem, half toward the former Sea, and half to the latter Sea

Ver. 9. But the Lord' fhall be King over all the Earth.

Ver. 11. Jerufalem fhall be fafely inhabited.

Ver. 12. This fhall be the Plague wherewith the Lord will fmite all People that have fought against Jerufalen, their Flefh fhall confume away, and their Eyes confume away, and their Tongues in their Mouths.

the King the Lord of Hofts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

Note, At the Siege of Jerufalem, chap. 12, the Jews have a great Deliverance, and Christ appears to them, to convince them that he is their Meffiah, whom they pierced; but, chap. 14, the Nations are gather'd against Jerufalem, and take it; but Chrift appears to them and deftroys them by an Earthquake, and Plague, and by one another's Swords. This is a different Vifion, and thews how the Gentiles must be converted by his appearance, and overthrow of them; all his Saints hall come with him, and the Lord fhall be King over all the Earth, and there fhall be one Lord, ver. 9. And they fhall worship the King, the Lord of Hofts, ver. 16. And this will refine the Jews, as Silver and Gold is refin'd; (chap. 13. ver. 9.) that is, convert them thoroughly to Chriftianity: The keeping the Feast of Tabernacles will be a Memorial of this Deliverance.

Haggai, chap. 2, ver. 21, 22. I will shake the Heaven and the Earth, and I will overthrow the Thrones of Kingdoms; and I will destroy the Strength of the Kingdoms of the Heathen, and the Horfe and the Rider fhall come down, every one by the Hand of his Brother.

Feremiah, chap. 31. ver. 31. I will make a new Covenant with the House of Ifrael, and with the Houfe of Judah. Ver. 32. I will put my Law in their inward Parts, and will be their God, and they fhall be my People.

fer. chap. 3. ver. 17. At that time they fhall call Jerufalem the Throne of the Lord, and all the Nations fhall be gather'd unto it, to

the

the Name of the Lord, to Jerufalem: Neither fhall they walk any more after the Imaginations of their evil Heart.

Ver. 18. In thofe days the House of Judah fhall walk with the House of Ifrael, and they hall come together out of the North to the Land which I have given for an Inheritance unto your Fathers. Ver. 19. A goodly Heritage of the Hofts of the Nations.

Romans chap. II. ver. 25, 26. Blindness in part hath happen'd to Ifrael, till the fulness of the Gentiles fhall come in.

Foel, chap. 3. ver. 2. I will gather together all Nations, and bring them down into the Valley of Jehofaphat: Ver. 12. There will I fit

judge the Heathen round about. Ver. 14. The Day of the Lord is near, and in the Valley of Decifion. Ver. 16. The Lord fhall roar out of Sion; and the Heavens and the Earth fhall Shake, but the Lord will be the hope of his People, and the Strength of the Children of Ifrael. Ver. 17. Then fhall ye know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Sion, my holy Mountain; then fhall Jerufalem be holy, and there fhall no Stranger pafs thro' it any more.

Note That is the laft Deftruction of the Jews, the fame as in the 14th of Zechariah, and they shall never be invaded any more by the Gentiles,

Micah, chap. 5. ver. 5. This Man (that is Chrift, whofe Birth is defcrib'd ver. 2.) Shall be the Peace, when the Affyrian fhall come X 3

Ver. 33. For he fhall fet them before him in Judgment, and shall rebuke them, and correct them.

Ver. 34. For the rest of my People fhall be deliver with mercy, thofe that have been preferved on my Borders, and he shall make them joyful until the coming of the Day of Judgment.

Thus Gog is defcrib'd in the Sibylline Ora-
cles, very like Ezekiel and Zechariah's Re-
lation of his Siege and Deftruction.

Tum Deus æternus nofcetur, qui facit illa: explebitque feras caro dilaniata. The Sibyls here intimate, that the Jews had a Temple, and this Destruction would make them acknowledge God's Protection.

The Darkness mention'd in Zechariah is thus defcrib'd :

Lumine nec claro fplendebit luna deinceps,
Cum Deus extremo regnabit tempore; verum
Omnia per terras caligo nigra tenebit.

Per feptem longos annis vertentibus orbes,

This is a plain intimation that seven long Orbs of Years fhall fucceed the Deftruction of Gog, and the Return of the Jews; and this agrees with Ezekiel, ch. 39, ver. 9. They that dwell in the Cities fhall go forth, and fhall fet on fire and burn the Weapons, and they fhall burn them with Fire feven

Years.
