When a guy "gets" grace, it flows through everything he says and writes. I feel this way about my new friend from the 1800's, John Broadus. His treatise is 500+ pages on preaching that also addresses many other relevant aspects of the Christian leader's mind and heart, with godly wisdom and a pastor's care. A comprehensive resource for any aspiring preacher or communicator of the gospel.

Great work by Broadus. He is not interested in fluffy preaching but he he does not try to push a somber, brick-faced image on the preacher either. Well-worth reading.
