VER. 9. ̓Αλλ ̓ οὐ προκόψουσιν ἐπὶ πλεῖον· ἡ γὰρ ἄνοια αὐτῶν ἔκδηλος ἔσται πᾶσιν, ὡς καὶ ἡ ἐκείνων ἐγένετο. a But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was. τρεις· οἵους διωγμοὺς ὑπήνεγκα, καὶ ἐκ πάντων με ἐῤῥύσατο ὁ Κύριος. a Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me bat Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. a See on 1 Cor. iv. ver. 9-11. b But the Jews stirred up the dechief men of the city, and raised pervout and honourable women, and the secution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelle! them out of their coasts. But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium, Acts xiii. 50, 51. And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude, both of the Jews and also of the Greeks, believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil-affected against the brethren, xiv. 1, 2. But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles. And when there was an assault made, both of the Gentiles and also of the Jews, with and to stone them. They were ware their rulers, to use them despitefully, of it, and fed unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about, 4—6. And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who per 222 A. D. 66. 2 TIM.
