At the reunion in 1904 it was voted to extend an invitation to the Corbins everywhere to a general reunion to be held in the same place in August, 1905, and a committee of arrangements was appointed, with the present compiler as chairman.

The first attempt at a general Corbin reunion was made in the summer of 1904, when Mr. Amasa Corbin of Gouverneur, N. Y., extended an invitation to a hundred Corbins, representing the various branches of the family, to accept his hospitality for a few days at the Murray Hill Hotel on Murray Isle, Thousand Islands. In response to this generous invitation a number of Corbins from various localities came together on the fifth and sixth of July and remained until the ninth. The number would have been larger had it occurred at a different time of the year and a longer notice been given. But those present, who were mostly strangers to each other at first, soon formed delightful friendships, and the days passed quickly and pleasantly, interspersed with excursions and sails in that delightful region. The host was assisted by his talented niece, Mrs. Alice Livingstone, and her versatile husband, Rev. C. A. Livingstone, who made it very pleasant for all. The family historian passed a busy time securing information from each one for the book. On the Friday evening before the party was to break up a banquet was held, after which each one, was called on for a speech, and very interesting they were. Among those present were Rev. S. C. Corbin of Copenhagen, N. Y., whose white head was a crown of glory" and whose winsome spirit will make him pleasantly remembered by all present; Mr. H. A. Corbin, "the Friendship Corbin," who with his wife and other members of the family came from Friendship, N. Y.; Mr. Jay S. Corbin, brother of the host, from Gouverneur, N. Y., whose vigorous and picturesque political discussions aroused much interest; Mr. Bruce Corbin, a student in Syracuse University, preparing for the Methodist ministry; Mr. John W. Corbin, a genial gentleman from New York, who with his skill in diagnosing diseases discovered that the host was suffering from "enlargement of the heart"; Mrs. Margaret Corbin of Albany, who is "proud to be a Corbin," and whose husband, Ernest Corbin, did so much pioneer work on this genealogy; Mr. and Mrs.

Webb Corbin of Dryden, N. Y., and several others. After passing a hearty vote of thanks to the host for his kind hospitality, the party broke up and the next morning separated with the hope that other such reunions might be held in the future.
